Why Choose Armenia for Medical Treatment?
- Qualified Professionals - Many top-tier surgeons are indeed internationally trained. Ensure you research the specific surgeon's credentials and recent case history.
- Modern Facilities - High-end facilities such as Shengavit and Nork Marash are state-of-the-art. Hospitals outside of Yerevan may not meet the same standards.
- Cost-Effectiveness - You can expect savings of 40% to 70% compared to other big countries, even after accounting for travel and lodging.
- Language - While medical staff in major Yerevan centres are multilingual (English/Russian), support staff or people in smaller towns may only speak Armenian or Russian.
Visa Extensions for Medical Reasons
To extend your stay for continued medical treatment, you must submit a formal request to the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Armenia.
- Application - Complete the official extension form via the Migration Service.
- Justification - Provide a medical certificate from your doctor explaining the need for extended care.
- Timing - Submit your request at least 10-15 days before your current visa expires.
